President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Receives Tony Blair to Discuss Expanding Cooperation

Tashkent, April 10, 2025 — The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Executive Chairman of the Institute for Global Change, Tony Blair, for high-level talks focused on strengthening practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Institute.

During the meeting, President Mirziyoyev and Mr. Blair discussed opportunities for deepening collaboration across several strategic domains, with particular emphasis on supporting Uzbekistan’s comprehensive reform agenda.

Tony Blair commended the ambitious scope and tangible progress of the ongoing reforms under the New Uzbekistan initiative. He affirmed the Institute’s commitment to offering expert and advisory support in advancing these reforms, especially in areas critical to sustainable development.

Key areas of prospective cooperation include attracting major strategic investors to Uzbekistan’s economic sectors, promoting technological modernization, and advancing digital transformation. Both sides also explored the integration of artificial intelligence into public administration and economic systems, as well as the potential for joint programs and pilot projects across priority sectors.
