Tashkent, April 11, 2025 — The Europe Today: Assistant to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva has underscored the strategic importance of developing high-quality national animation content for children, during a meeting with representatives of leading animation studios.
The discussions focused on key issues facing Uzbekistan’s domestic animation industry and explored concrete proposals for its support and promotion. Emphasis was placed on fostering a vibrant ecosystem that can produce educational and culturally resonant content for young audiences.
Saida Mirziyoyeva highlighted the need to reduce reliance on foreign media products, which continue to dominate the children’s content landscape in Uzbekistan. “There is a particularly acute shortage of children’s songs in Uzbek, cartoons reflecting our national values, as well as progressive and educational materials,” she stated on her official Telegram channel.
She pointed to the Donocha project as a successful example of homegrown creativity. The initiative, which focuses on developing children’s content in the Uzbek language, was praised for its commitment to cultural authenticity and educational value. Mirziyoyeva emphasized that such efforts must receive comprehensive and sustained support to flourish.
The role of children’s literature and traditional Uzbek folk tales in nurturing national identity was also discussed. These cultural assets, she noted, can serve as a foundational source for crafting original and meaningful animated content that both entertains and educates.
The meeting concluded with a call for stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to ensure that future generations in Uzbekistan have access to culturally relevant, enriching, and linguistically inclusive media.
