Tehran, April 30, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Masoud Pezeshkian described the deadly explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in southern Iran as a deeply sorrowful and painful tragedy, pledging full support from his administration to the families of the victims and all those affected.

Speaking on Wednesday during a national festival honoring Iranian workers, President Pezeshkian extended his condolences to the bereaved and affirmed that the government would act swiftly to identify all victims, ensure their families receive rightful salaries and benefits, and address their immediate and long-term needs.

“The families of the deceased and injured will not be left alone in their grief,” the President stated, emphasizing the administration’s duty to stand beside citizens in times of crisis. He called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident, urging Parliament and media outlets to closely follow developments to ensure transparency and accountability.

President Pezeshkian reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the health and welfare of all citizens, particularly Iranian workers, whom he praised for their resilience and service to the nation.

During a cabinet meeting, the President expressed appreciation to countries that had extended condolences, singling out Russia for promptly providing rescue equipment and personnel to support Iranian emergency teams on the ground.

He further instructed cabinet ministers to coordinate with insurance companies to evaluate damages and accelerate compensation claims for those impacted. The Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade was directed to compile data on vehicles and property damaged in the blast and work in cooperation with relevant agencies to ensure timely restitution.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the explosion, which struck the Shahid Rajaee Port complex in Bandar Abbas, a key gateway for Iran’s maritime trade.
