Tehran, May 2, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Iranian Foreign Ministry has announced that the next round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States, which was initially scheduled to take place in Rome on Saturday, May 3, 2025, has been postponed.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed the delay, stating that the decision to reschedule the talks was made following a proposal from the Omani Foreign Minister. Baqaei further noted that the new date for the talks would be communicated in due course.
The spokesperson emphasized that the postponement did not alter Iran’s commitment to pursuing diplomatic avenues in order to secure the legitimate and legal interests of the Iranian nation. Baqaei reiterated that Iran remains focused on resolving outstanding issues, particularly the removal of sanctions and alleviating the economic pressures that impact the human rights and welfare of the Iranian people.
