Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Meets Bouygues Chairman in Paris

Paris, May 7, 2025 – The Europe Today: Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held a meeting with Martin Bouygues, Chairman of the prominent French industrial conglomerate Bouygues, in Paris, according to Turkmenistan’s state news agency.

The meeting underscored the strength of Turkmen-French economic relations, with both parties emphasizing Turkmenistan’s favorable investment climate and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation. Martin Bouygues reaffirmed his company’s interest in expanding its footprint in Turkmenistan, citing the country’s stable economic environment and ongoing infrastructure development.

Bouygues also expressed appreciation for the strategic guidance provided by Berdimuhamedov, which he credited as instrumental in the successful execution of a number of key projects in Turkmenistan.

In turn, Berdimuhamedov acknowledged Bouygues’ substantial contributions to Turkmenistan’s infrastructure and educational sectors, notably the construction of a French-language school, which stands as a symbol of cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Martin Bouygues extended his best wishes for a productive and successful visit by the Turkmen leader to the French Republic.

Later in the day, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov participated in the Turkmen-French Economic Forum, held at the InterContinental Paris – Le Grand. The forum brought together government representatives and business leaders from both nations to further deepen trade and investment ties, and to discuss new partnership opportunities across key sectors.
