Azerbaijan Welcomes India-Pakistan Ceasefire

Baku, May 11, 2025 — The Europe Today: The Republic of Azerbaijan has welcomed the recent declaration of a ceasefire between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, expressing hope that the development will contribute to long-term peace and stability in the region.

In an official statement released on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan commended the move, underscoring its potential to reduce regional tensions and foster constructive engagement between the two neighboring countries.

“We express our hope that this ceasefire will contribute to the reduction of tensions in the region, as well as to the establishment of lasting peace and stability. We call on the parties to engage in productive dialogue aimed at resolving outstanding issues and building mutual trust,” the statement read.

Azerbaijan reiterated its consistent support for peaceful conflict resolution and diplomacy, urging both India and Pakistan to seize the opportunity to advance bilateral relations through meaningful dialogue and confidence-building measures.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasized that sustainable peace is achievable only through mutual understanding, trust, and a commitment to peaceful coexistence.
