Taiyuan, May 11, 2025 — The Europe Today: China successfully launched a group of remote sensing satellites, designated as Yaogan-40 02, into orbit on Sunday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, according to official reports.
The satellites were carried into space aboard a modified version of the Long March-6 carrier rocket, which lifted off at 9:27 p.m. Beijing Time. The launch center confirmed that the satellite group successfully entered its planned orbit.
The Yaogan-40 02 satellites are tasked with conducting electromagnetic environment detection and supporting related technical experiments, enhancing China’s capabilities in remote sensing and scientific research.
Sunday’s mission marks the 574th launch of the Long March rocket series, a cornerstone of China’s space exploration and satellite deployment efforts.
