Uzbekistan, EU Deepen Ties with Focus on Green Energy and Development

Tashkent, May 13, 2025 — The Europe Today: Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a meeting with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais, to discuss a broad agenda of bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.

During the talks, both sides exchanged views on key areas of collaboration, including education, sustainable development, green energy, and current regional and global issues. Special emphasis was placed on enhancing practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union across these strategic domains.

The two officials underscored the importance of steadily implementing the agreements reached at the Central Asia–European Union Summit recently held in Samarkand, describing them as essential for deepening mutual engagement. They also acknowledged the high potential of the partnership between Central Asia and the EU, reiterating their shared commitment to strengthening and expanding it comprehensively.

The meeting reflected the continued momentum in Uzbekistan–EU relations and the shared vision of fostering a closer, more productive, and future-oriented partnership based on mutual interest and shared values.
