Baku, May 15, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a phone call today from Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed President Aliyev on the recent military attacks carried out by India against Pakistan, as well as the subsequent establishment of a ceasefire in the region. He expressed sincere appreciation for Azerbaijan’s diplomatic and political support during the crisis and for its expression of solidarity with the people of Pakistan. The Prime Minister described Azerbaijan’s stance as a clear reflection of the fraternal and trusted relations between the two nations.
President Ilham Aliyev welcomed the ceasefire and expressed his hope for sustained peace and stability in the region. He reaffirmed the unwavering support and solidarity of the Azerbaijani people and government with Pakistan, emphasizing the strong historical and brotherly ties that unite the two countries.
The two leaders also exchanged views on the further development of bilateral cooperation across various fields, underscoring their shared commitment to strengthening strategic partnership and collaboration at both regional and international levels.
