Ashgabat, May 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, will undertake a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation to participate in the 16th International Economic Forum “Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum.” The announcement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Turkmenistan’s engagement in this prestigious forum reflects its commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with the Russian Federation and expanding multifaceted cooperation with the Islamic world in political, economic, trade, and humanitarian spheres.
As part of the visit, meetings are scheduled between the National Leader of the Turkmen people and senior officials of the Russian Federation, including high-ranking government representatives. The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing bilateral relations and promoting mutually beneficial initiatives.
Special emphasis will be placed on strengthening cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan, which is recognized for its robust industrial and technological potential. In recent years, Turkmen-Tatar ties have seen renewed momentum, particularly in the sectors of economy, transport, agriculture, and the food industry.
In conjunction with the forum, the Russia Halal Expo 2025 will be held, where Turkmenistan will once again present one of the most comprehensive national pavilions. The exhibition will showcase a wide array of products by Turkmen manufacturers, which, as noted by industry experts, consistently meet high international quality standards.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasized that the participation of the Turkmen delegation in KazanForum 2025 is expected to serve as a key milestone in the further development of Turkmen-Russian interstate cooperation and the strengthening of Turkmenistan’s engagement with member states of the Islamic world.
