Kazan, May 17, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his official visit to Kazan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, according to the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH).
The conversation took place against the backdrop of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum 2025,” where Berdimuhamedov is participating as an honored guest. President Putin expressed his gratitude to the Turkmen leader for attending the forum and emphasized its significance as a platform for dialogue and cooperation among Islamic countries and the Russian Federation.
In response, Berdimuhamedov congratulated President Putin on the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, expressing appreciation for the invitation to the forum and reaffirming Turkmenistan’s dedication to fostering constructive international partnerships.
The leaders underscored the growing momentum in Turkmen-Russian relations, highlighting cooperation grounded in friendship, mutual trust, and understanding across key sectors, including politics, diplomacy, and multilateral engagement within regional and international institutions.
Both parties expressed confidence in the further development and deepening of bilateral ties for the mutual benefit of their nations and peoples, reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and cooperation on strategic matters.
President Putin also extended warm greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, underscoring the continuity and strength of bilateral leadership ties.
