Baku, May 25, 2025 – The Europe Today: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov reiterated their countries’ commitment to a peaceful resolution of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war during a joint press conference held in Baku.
Addressing the media, Foreign Minister Bayramov emphasized the importance of achieving a ceasefire and pursuing a political and legal resolution to the conflict. “First of all, we want to see a ceasefire. We support a political and legal solution to the conflict,” Bayramov stated, expressing Azerbaijan’s hope for an end to hostilities.
Bayramov also commended the diplomatic efforts undertaken in Türkiye earlier this month. “We commend the negotiations held in Türkiye on May 15,” he noted, referring to the renewed direct dialogue between Russian and Ukrainian representatives, facilitated by Ankara.
Highlighting Azerbaijan’s consistent support for Ukraine, Bayramov recalled his country’s assistance across various sectors since the early days of the conflict. He reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to contributing to regional and global efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace.
Foreign Minister Sybiha, for his part, briefed his Azerbaijani counterpart on the latest developments in the war and expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s continued support and principled stance.
The joint press conference underscored the strong bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as their shared vision for peace, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in the face of ongoing regional challenges.
