Uzbekistan’s Foreign Trade Rises by 16.3% in First Four Months of 2025

Tashkent, May 25, 2025 – The Europe Today: Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached 24.6 billion tenge in the January–April period of this year, marking a 16.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to data released by the country’s national statistics committee. The figures underscore Uzbekistan’s expanding global trade footprint, with active commercial exchanges now involving 183 countries.

China retained its position as Uzbekistan’s leading trade partner, with bilateral trade exceeding USD 4.1 billion, accounting for 17% of the total turnover. The robust exchange reflects deepening economic ties and growing commodity flows between the two nations.

Russia followed as the second-largest trading partner, making up 15.1% of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade. Bilateral trade volume between Russia and Uzbekistan surpassed 3.7 billion tenge during the reporting period, underlining the continued strength of regional economic cooperation.

Kazakhstan ranked third among Uzbekistan’s top trade partners, with total trade reaching nearly USD 1.4 billion. This represents an increase of USD 168 million compared to the same period last year. Within this figure, Kazakhstan’s exports to Uzbekistan amounted to USD 405.7 million, while imports reached USD 986.8 million.

In 2024, total trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan surpassed USD 4.2 billion, reflecting a consistent upward trajectory in their economic relations.

The latest figures indicate Uzbekistan’s growing engagement in global trade and the importance of regional partnerships in driving its economic development.
