Fidan Meets Putin in Moscow for Talks on Ukraine Conflict and Bilateral Cooperation

Moscow, May 27, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was received by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Russian capital on Monday, according to Turkish diplomatic sources. The high-level meeting, which began at 7:30 p.m. local time (1630 GMT), lasted approximately one hour.

The discussions focused primarily on recent diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The two leaders reviewed outcomes from the most recent round of peace talks held in Istanbul on May 16, and exchanged views on possible pathways to de-escalation and negotiated settlement.
