Islamabad, May 29, 2025 – The Europe Today: His Excellency Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, called on His Excellency Ahmad Hussain Dayo, Director General of the Foreign Service Academy (FSA) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, on Thursday at his office in Islamabad.
During the meeting, both dignitaries exchanged views on deepening bilateral cooperation between the Foreign Service Academy of Pakistan and its Ethiopian counterpart. Discussions focused on enhancing capacity building of diplomats and foreign service officials through the organization of short- and long-term training programs and professional courses.
Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula briefed the Director General on the broader context of Ethiopia-Pakistan relations, highlighting ongoing bilateral and multilateral engagements in trade, investment, aviation, science and technology, climate change, and peace and security. He reaffirmed the Ethiopian Government’s commitment to advancing cooperation with Pakistan and further strengthening the multifaceted ties between the two countries.
For his part, H.E. Ahmad Hussain Dayo welcomed the growing momentum in Ethiopia-Pakistan relations, noting the significance of the recent establishment of the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and the commencement of Ethiopian Airlines operations in Karachi. He observed that these developments have facilitated increased exchanges of delegations and cooperation in key sectors, including trade, business, investment, science and technology, health, and education.
The Director General also lauded the impressive economic growth achieved by Ethiopia under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, and expressed optimism for continued collaboration between the two countries in various spheres of mutual interest.
