Astana International Forum 2025 Kicks Off in Kazakhstan with Global Participation

Astana, May 29, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Kazakh capital is hosting the highly anticipated Astana International Forum 2025, bringing together leaders and participants from over 70 countries. Themed “Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future,” the forum opened with the participation of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, attracting a diverse range of delegates, heads of companies, and over 100 foreign media representatives.

Notable figures expected to address the forum include Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame and Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Chairman Ban Ki-moon, adding to the event’s prominence on the international stage.

According to organizers, over 37 major hotels have been fully booked to accommodate the influx of guests. The occupancy rate for 4-star hotels from May 26 to May 31, 2025, ranges between 50% to 90%, while 5-star hotels have reached nearly full capacity, with occupancy between 90% and 100%. In comparison, the occupancy rate for the same period in 2024 was notably lower, ranging from 30% to 60% for 4-star hotels and 50% to 60% for 5-star accommodations.

Business tourists attending the event are expected to spend an average of 177,000 tenge per day, covering expenses for accommodation, food, taxis, entertainment, and shopping. The average length of stay is three days.

The cumulative economic impact of the Astana International Forum 2025 for both the capital and the entire country is estimated to exceed 2.6 billion tenge, underscoring the event’s significant contribution to Kazakhstan’s economy.

The forum’s plenary session, which will feature high-level discussions on global issues, is set to be broadcast live, making the event accessible to a global audience and further emphasizing Kazakhstan’s role as a hub for international dialogue and cooperation.
