Baku, June 4, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his official visit to the Republic of Kenya, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met on Monday with Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, in Nairobi.
Following a one-on-one meeting, the two officials led expanded discussions with participation from their respective delegations, focusing on bilateral and multilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties rooted in mutual benefit and shared values. They emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in high-level exchanges, conducting regular political consultations between foreign ministries, and enhancing the bilateral legal and institutional framework.
The two parties expressed satisfaction with ongoing cooperation in multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29). Discussions also touched on key sectors such as economy, trade, investment, energy, ICT, agriculture, tourism, and joint efforts to combat climate change and advance green transformation.
The successful cooperation between Azerbaijan’s “ASAN Khidmet” public service model and Kenya’s “Huduma Programme” was highlighted as a best practice in delivering efficient and citizen-centric services.
In addition, the role of cultural and educational exchanges in fostering stronger people-to-people ties was acknowledged, with both countries expressing interest in expanding collaboration in these fields.
Both delegations expressed confidence that the newly established Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nairobi will serve as a catalyst for more structured and comprehensive bilateral cooperation.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on regional and international developments of mutual concern.
