Kazakhstan and Greece Deepen Maritime Cooperation Following Strategic Visit by Kazmortransflot Delegation

Athens, June 7, 2025 – The Europe Today: From June 4 to 6, a high-level delegation from Kazmortransflot LLP, Kazakhstan’s National Maritime Shipping Company, conducted a working visit to Greece aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the maritime sector. The visit was facilitated by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Greece, reflecting growing efforts to enhance economic and transport connectivity between the two countries.

The delegation was headed by Aidar Orzhanov, General Director of Kazmortransflot, and included senior representatives of Kazakhstan’s key maritime institutions.

During the visit, the Kazakh officials held meetings with leaders of prominent Greek maritime companies, toured ship repair yards, and examined port infrastructure facilities.

Discussions focused on promising areas of collaboration such as shipbuilding, fleet maintenance, advanced logistics systems, and the development of new international transport routes. The Kazakh side emphasized its interest in adopting modern technological solutions to enhance maritime fleet management and operational efficiency.

Both parties reaffirmed their mutual readiness to broaden the dialogue and establish sustainable channels of cooperation between relevant industry bodies in Kazakhstan and Greece.

This visit marks a significant step toward building a robust partnership in maritime transport and logistics, aligning with earlier expressions of Greece’s interest in intensifying economic ties and improving transport connectivity with Central Asia’s largest economy.
