Beijing, June 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: China’s Ministry of Commerce has announced the approval of several export license applications for rare earth-related items in response to increasing global demand, especially for medium and heavy rare earth elements used in industries such as robotics and new energy vehicles.
A spokesperson from the Ministry emphasized that rare earth materials possess dual-use characteristics, serving both military and civilian purposes. Consequently, the export controls imposed are consistent with international standards and practices.
“These measures aim to protect national security and interests, while fulfilling China’s international non-proliferation commitments, underscoring our dedication to world peace and regional stability,” the spokesperson stated.
China also affirmed its commitment to rigorously review all compliant export applications and expressed readiness to strengthen communication and cooperation with relevant countries to facilitate lawful and efficient trade of rare earth products.
