Tehran, June 10, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Islamic Republic of Iran has confirmed that the sixth round of indirect negotiations with the United States will take place in Muscat, Oman, on Sunday. The announcement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei during a press briefing on Tuesday.
According to Baqaei, the upcoming talks will be mediated by the Sultanate of Oman, continuing the country’s ongoing role as a facilitator of dialogue between Tehran and Washington.
“The Islamic Republic and the United States are scheduled to resume indirect negotiations in Muscat next Sunday, with Oman once again acting as the intermediary,” he stated.
The discussions are part of a broader diplomatic effort to address key issues of mutual concern and explore potential avenues for easing tensions. To date, five rounds of indirect talks have been held — three in Muscat and two in Rome — all facilitated by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi.
In a related development, Baqaei also confirmed that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi will travel to Norway to participate in the 22nd edition of the Oslo Forum. The annual event brings together global leaders, mediators, conflict parties, and policy experts to engage in dialogue, assess international crises, and support peace-building initiatives.
Araqchi’s attendance at the Oslo Forum underscores Iran’s commitment to constructive engagement on the international stage, both through bilateral discussions and multilateral platforms dedicated to conflict resolution.
