Baku Hosts “Middle Corridor 360°” Forum on Geopolitics and Sustainable Development

Baku, June 11, 2025 – The Europe Today: A high-level side event titled “Middle Corridor 360°: From Geopolitics to Digital Transformation, from Family to Green Development” was held in Baku as part of the second meeting of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Ministers of Family and Social Policies.

The event, moderated by Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms, offered a multidimensional analysis of the Middle Corridor’s growing significance. The discussions encompassed a wide range of topics, beginning with geopolitical stability and regional security, and extending to cultural integration, digital innovation, and energy security.

In her remarks, Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs of Azerbaijan, underlined the country’s strategic geopolitical position, rich natural resources, and harmonious alignment with international priorities as factors that enhance Azerbaijan’s role in global socio-political processes.

Prominent regional leaders and policymakers addressed the forum, including:

Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Minister of Family and Social Services of Türkiye

Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

Ömer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkish Labour and Social Security Organization

Tahir Mirkishili, Member of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan

Additional contributions were made by Fazil Mustafa, Member of Parliament, and Elnur Soltanov, Deputy Minister of Energy, who highlighted the energy security dimensions and digital transformation potential of the Middle Corridor, especially in fostering sustainable development.

The event concluded with an engaging exchange on the strategic, economic, social, and environmental relevance of the Middle Corridor, reinforcing its role as a key bridge between East and West, and a platform for integrated cooperation across the Turkic world and beyond.
