Phạm Minh Chính Concludes Productive 10-Day Europe Tour, Bolstering Vietnam’s Global Partnerships

Hanoi, June 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, accompanied by his spouse and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, returned to Hà Nội on Saturday morning, wrapping up a highly active and successful 10-day working visit to Europe. The trip encompassed participation in the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3), bilateral engagements in France, and official visits to Estonia and Sweden.

During the extensive tour, the Prime Minister conducted over 80 official activities, underscoring Vietnam’s growing diplomatic and economic footprint on the global stage. At UNOC 3, held in Nice, France, PM Chính represented ASEAN in a keynote address and co-chaired the Deltas of the World Summit alongside the President of Iraq. He was also a special guest at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco.

The Prime Minister met with more than 20 world leaders and heads of international organizations, including the Vice President of China, the King of Jordan, the Presidents of Peru, Palau, and Costa Rica, and the Prime Ministers of Greece, Spain, Portugal, Tuvalu, and the Solomon Islands. Meetings were also held with top officials from the United Nations and European Union, including the UN Secretary-General, the President of the UN General Assembly, the Presidents of the European Council and Commission, and the Director-General of UNESCO.

In France, PM Chính held bilateral discussions to further implement the Việt Nam–France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both sides committed to translating the outcomes of Party General Secretary Tô Lâm’s 2024 visit to France and French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent state visit to Việt Nam into practical cooperation.

His official visits to Estonia and Sweden further expanded Vietnam’s bilateral relations with both countries. In Estonia and Sweden, the Prime Minister and his counterparts agreed to elevate ties, particularly in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. A notable achievement was Vietnam and Sweden’s agreement to establish a sectoral strategic partnership in science, technology, and innovation.

Recognizing the vital role of economic cooperation, PM Chính attended and presided over business forums in all three countries, actively engaging with leading enterprises to promote trade, investment, and technology transfer.

In addition to diplomatic and economic engagements, the Prime Minister delivered keynote policy addresses at prominent universities and visited several cultural and socio-economic institutions, gaining insights into the host countries’ development strategies.

Demonstrating his commitment to the global Vietnamese diaspora, PM Chính also held heartfelt meetings with overseas Vietnamese communities — including scholars, entrepreneurs, and families — to reaffirm their connection with the homeland and encourage their contributions to Vietnam’s future.

The European tour yielded significant and substantive outcomes, deepening Vietnam’s bilateral relations, expanding international cooperation, and reinforcing the nation’s role as a proactive, responsible partner in addressing regional and global challenges.
