Azerbaijani, Uzbek Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Security and OIC Preparations

Baku, June 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: On June 16, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

According to the Press Service Department of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers exchanged views on the regional security situation in light of the recent escalation between Iran and Israel. They also discussed matters pertaining to the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

In addition, the ministers addressed organizational and substantive aspects of the upcoming Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which is scheduled to be held in Istanbul on June 21–22. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and coordination within the OIC framework.
