Tehran, June 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: Iranian officials have strongly condemned the Israeli regime for its recent aerial assaults on Tehran, accusing it of committing war crimes and deliberately targeting civilians, including children and diplomatic infrastructure.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei sharply criticized Israel’s actions, stating that numerous children were killed over the past three days during what he described as a “war of aggression” by Israel against Iran. “The Israeli regime has killed many children during the past 3 days of its war of aggression on Iran and has also targeted a children’s hospital,” Baqaei wrote on his official X account late Sunday, referring to Hakim Children’s Hospital, affiliated with Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
Baqaei further cited past remarks by former Israeli deputy chief of staff Yair Golan, alleging that the Israeli military treats the killing of children as a “hobby.”
Separately, Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister for Research and Chairman of the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS), accused Israel of targeting Iran’s diplomatic infrastructure in a direct airstrike.
“The criminal regime of Israel launched a deliberate and ruthless strike on one of the buildings of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, located directly across from the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS),” Khatibzadeh stated on his X account.
He confirmed that several civilians, including ministry personnel, were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. The strike also damaged the IPIS library, which he described as a “cowardly assault” on Iran’s academic and diplomatic institutions.
“This is yet another clear war crime, part of Israel’s ongoing and systematic campaign of aggression against Iran,” Khatibzadeh added.
The statements come amid escalating tensions and a series of cross-border attacks between the two countries, raising international concern over the widening scope of the conflict and its humanitarian impact.
