The Premier made these remarks during an inspection tour in east China’s Jiangsu Province from Monday to Wednesday.
Throughout the tour, Premier Li underscored the need to foster a vibrant environment for entrepreneurship and innovation, encouraging efforts to unleash vitality for high-quality development by deepening reform and expanding openness.
At a local construction machinery enterprise, Li urged the integration of cutting-edge technologies — such as artificial intelligence and clean energy — to accelerate the upgrading of the sector in line with global industrial trends. He called for a strong alignment between technological innovation and industrial needs, stressing the significance of achieving major original breakthroughs and rapidly translating them into industrial and market applications.
Premier Li also highlighted the importance of deepening basic scientific research, advancing cross-disciplinary innovation, and enhancing collaborative efforts to maintain China’s competitive edge in the future landscape of science and technology as well as industrial development.
Visiting a home appliance manufacturer, the Premier examined the outcomes of the country’s consumer goods trade-in programme, encouraging the company to effectively leverage government policies to stimulate domestic consumption. He noted the immense potential of China’s growing market and reiterated the country’s openness to global business.
“China welcomes enterprises from all countries to invest and start businesses here,” Premier Li stated. “We will further enhance policy support and service guarantees to foster a favorable environment for foreign-funded enterprises to develop and thrive.”
During his tour, Li also stressed the need to maximize the role of the China-Europe Railway Express and cross-border e-commerce platforms to enhance economic and trade ties with Central Asian countries. He called for expanding cooperation areas and promoting mutual benefit through the high-quality advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Recognizing Jiangsu Province’s strong economic foundation, the Premier acknowledged its elevated development goals and urged the province to leverage its economic strength to contribute more significantly to national development objectives.
Li’s visit reflects China’s ongoing commitment to innovation-led growth, consumption-driven recovery, and global economic cooperation in pursuit of sustainable and inclusive development.
