President Mirziyoyev Reviews Major Tourism Projects in Parkent District, Unveils Plans for World-Class Ski Resort

Parkent, June 19, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his working visit to the Parkent district, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed several tourism development initiatives, including a newly established mountain-top tourist complex at the summit of “Oltin Bel” and ambitious plans for a large-scale ski resort.

The President inspected a modern hotel complex built on a three-hectare mountain slope, which currently features two hotels with a combined capacity of 188 guests, capsule-style houses, a restaurant, and supporting utility infrastructure. In the next phase of development, 20 additional guest dwellings are set to be constructed to expand accommodation capacity.

President Mirziyoyev personally reviewed the amenities provided to visitors and was briefed on broader plans to transform Parkent into a major tourist hub. In total, 52 tourism-related projects valued at $1.8 billion are slated for implementation in the region. These projects are expected to generate approximately 3,300 new jobs and enable the district to serve up to 1 million tourists annually.

The scenic, snow-covered mountains of Parkent also present a unique opportunity for the construction of a 1,200-hectare ski resort, in cooperation with an Austrian company. The President was presented with detailed plans for the project, which will be carried out in three phases.

The ski resort will feature:

  • Three-, four-, and five-star hotels
  • Ski slopes and lifts
  • Mountain chalets and picnic areas
  • Restaurants and wellness centers

Upon completion, the resort will be capable of accommodating up to 15,000 tourists per day and will include around 600 service facilities. Factoring in seasonal and year-round operations, the project is expected to create up to 10,000 new jobs.

Once realized, the resort is projected to become one of the largest tourist destinations in the Tashkent region, comparable to the renowned “Amirsoy” complex in the Bostanlyk district.

During a meeting with tourism and development specialists, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of refining the project, diversifying service offerings, and accelerating construction efforts to ensure timely delivery and high-quality infrastructure.

These initiatives form part of Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to expand its tourism sector, attract foreign investment, and promote the country as a year-round travel destination.
