Shusha, June 21, 2025 – The Europe Today: Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan arrived in the city of Shusha as part of their official visit to the East Zangezur and Karabakh regions.
According to AZERTAC’s regional correspondent, the diplomats will tour various parts of Shusha, widely regarded as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan and the historical jewel of Karabakh. The visit includes an overview of the city’s rich heritage as well as the extensive restoration and reconstruction projects currently underway.
The delegation is accompanied by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, who is overseeing the visit.
This visit follows the diplomats’ earlier stop in the city of Lachin on June 20, where they were also briefed on the progress of post-conflict rehabilitation and development efforts.
The visit underscores the international community’s engagement with the region and highlights Azerbaijan’s commitment to restoring liberated territories and preserving its cultural legacy.
