Turkmen, U.S. Senior Officials Hold Constructive Talks on Regional, Global Issues

Ashgabat, June 23, 2025 — The Europe Today: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a telephone conversation on Saturday with the First Deputy Secretary of State of the United States, Christopher Landau. The discussion was initiated by the American side, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the call, both parties noted the positive and stable nature of the bilateral partnership between Turkmenistan and the United States, highlighting cooperation across political, trade-economic, humanitarian, and cultural domains.

The officials exchanged views on pressing international and regional developments, with particular attention given to the evolving situation in the Middle East. Humanitarian aspects and the role of diplomatic engagement in resolving the conflict were underscored during the exchange.

Minister Meredov reiterated Turkmenistan’s unwavering commitment to the peaceful resolution of global issues, emphasizing the country’s permanent neutrality status—recognized by three United Nations General Assembly resolutions—as a guiding principle in its foreign policy.

Turkmenistan also expressed its readiness to contribute to international diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Middle East crisis through comprehensive and multilateral mechanisms.

The conversation was conducted in a constructive and trust-based atmosphere, reflecting the enduring spirit of mutual respect and cooperation between the two nations.
