Baku, June 24, 2025 — The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to peace and regional stability during the inauguration ceremony of the “8 November” Power Plant in Mingachevir on Monday. In his address, the head of state emphasized the significance of the past five years of sustained peace within Azerbaijan and expressed hope for similar stability beyond its borders.
“For five years, peace has been fully ensured in Azerbaijan, and of course, the sooner peace is established beyond our borders, the better it will be both for those countries and naturally for us as well,” President Aliyev stated.
He further highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing global standing as a nation of stability, development, and progress. “The reality is that today our country is recognized worldwide as a place of stability, development, and progress, and we have earned this reputation through our own labor, efforts, and well-considered policies,” he added.
The inauguration of the “8 November” Power Plant marks a significant milestone in Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its energy infrastructure and promote sustainable development. The facility is named in honor of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day, commemorating the liberation of Shusha in 2020.
The event was attended by government officials, industry representatives, and members of the public, underscoring the project’s importance for national energy security and economic growth.
