Washington, D.C., June 28, 2025 – The Europe Today: Former U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday vehemently denied media reports alleging that he supports a $30 billion initiative to assist Iran in developing civilian nuclear infrastructure.
In a strongly worded post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump rejected the claims, calling them a fabrication.
“Who in the Fake News Media is the SleazeBag saying that ‘President Trump wants to give Iran $30 Billion to build non-military Nuclear facilities’?” Trump wrote. “Never heard of this ridiculous idea. It’s just another HOAX put out by the Fake News in order to demean. These people are SICK!!!”
The denial follows reports by various media outlets suggesting that the Trump administration had, at some point, considered offering economic incentives to Iran, including the unfreezing of billions of dollars in Iranian assets. According to unnamed sources cited in those reports, such a proposal would have been aimed at halting Iran’s uranium enrichment activities.
In a separate but related development, U.S. military forces reportedly targeted Iran’s nuclear infrastructure in a series of coordinated strikes on June 22. These strikes included the dropping of six bunker-buster bombs on the Fordo nuclear facility, along with submarine-launched cruise missile attacks on sites in Natanz and Isfahan.
These military actions came in the wake of escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, which engaged in a 12-day conflict that concluded with a U.S.-brokered ceasefire that took effect on June 24. Notably, a sixth round of U.S.-Iran nuclear talks, originally scheduled for June 15, was disrupted when Israel launched a wave of airstrikes on Iranian military, nuclear, and civilian targets on June 13.
Despite the cessation of hostilities, the situation remains tense, with diplomatic efforts ongoing to prevent further escalation and revive stalled negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.
