Azerbaijan Begins New Phase of Resettlement to Kangarli Village in Aghdam District

Baku, June 30, 2025 – The Europe Today: In accordance with the directives of President Ilham Aliyev, the Government of Azerbaijan has initiated a new phase of resettlement to Kangarli village in the Aghdam district, as part of the country’s broader reconstruction and repopulation efforts in liberated territories.

This phase involves the relocation of 37 families, comprising a total of 153 individuals, who have now returned to their ancestral homes.

The resettlement process reflects the Azerbaijani government’s ongoing commitment to restoring life and infrastructure in the regions affected by the former conflict. Comprehensive reconstruction, including the provision of modern housing, utilities, and social facilities, has been carried out to ensure a dignified return for residents.

The move marks another important step in Azerbaijan’s national strategy to revitalize the Karabakh region, restore historical settlements, and support the socio-economic development of the area in a sustainable and secure manner.
