Ashgabat, July 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday formally received the credentials of Dr. Faryal Leghari, Pakistan’s newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan, as reported by Turkmenistan’s state news agency.
During the official ceremony, Ambassador Leghari expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the Turkmen leadership. She conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to President Berdimuhamedov and National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In his remarks, President Berdimuhamedov reciprocated with best wishes for Pakistan’s leadership and reaffirmed the deep-rooted, brotherly relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan. He underscored the strong historical, cultural, and spiritual ties that unite the two nations.
The Turkmen leader also reiterated his country’s unwavering commitment to major regional infrastructure initiatives, including the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, as well as the development of fiber-optic communication and electricity transmission lines along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan corridor.
He expressed confidence in Ambassador Leghari’s capabilities and her potential role in promoting bilateral cooperation and advancing shared infrastructure projects of strategic importance.
Both sides emphasized the significance of enhancing cultural and humanitarian collaboration, particularly in the fields of education, science, and healthcare.
Concluding the meeting, Ambassador Leghari reaffirmed her determination to further strengthen the traditional bonds of friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
