Washington, July 2, 2025 – The Europe Today: U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, as part of ongoing efforts to end the war in the Palestinian enclave.
“Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60-Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War,” Trump stated in a message posted on social media.
He added that Qatar and Egypt, key mediators in the negotiations, would deliver the final ceasefire proposal. “The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal,” he said.
Trump expressed hope that Hamas would accept the deal, warning that rejecting the offer could lead to worse outcomes. “I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” he emphasized.
The proposed truce is seen as a critical opportunity to halt the months-long conflict and lay the groundwork for a broader resolution, with international stakeholders closely monitoring developments.
