Baku, July 3, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Sea Breeze resort on July 2, located on the Caspian Sea coast, during the Uzbek leader’s official visit to Azerbaijan.
Emin Agalarov, founder of Sea Breeze, welcomed the two heads of state and provided a comprehensive briefing on the completed and upcoming projects at the resort.
Covering an area of 500 hectares, Sea Breeze has already developed and commissioned more than 3 million square meters of residential and commercial real estate. Over 500 buildings have been constructed, and the current resident population exceeds 20,000. By 2028, the resort is expected to host more than 50,000 residents, with a long-term vision of accommodating up to 500,000 people upon full completion.
Among the key highlights of the development is the creation of a distinctive crescent-shaped artificial peninsula, which will span 50 hectares. More than 150 hectares have been allocated to green and recreational zones, including parks and beaches, creating a modern and sustainable living environment. The resort is supported by vital infrastructure such as a school, kindergarten, and hospital to ensure a high standard of living for its residents and guests.
As part of an extensive landscaping initiative, around 10 million plants and trees have been planted, contributing to the expansion of green spaces to 300 hectares.
Strategically situated just 30 minutes from the center of Baku, Sea Breeze integrates various types of real estate along the Caspian coastline and is widely regarded as a unique global-scale project.
Currently, the resort employs 6,560 individuals, with plans to expand the workforce significantly as development progresses. Investment in the project has reached $3 billion, with a further $10 billion earmarked for development over the next five years.
The resort also features “The Choyxona,” a renowned Uzbek restaurant brand that symbolizes the growing cultural and economic ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
During the visit, Emin Agalarov also unveiled the updated master plan for the “Sea Breeze Uzbekistan” project, which will be developed near the scenic Charvak Reservoir. The project is envisioned as a major regional tourism and lifestyle destination, building on the success of the Caspian coast development.
