Baku, July 12, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of her official working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova visited the Srebrenica Memorial Center, paying solemn tribute to the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide.
Accompanied by parliamentary leaders and officials from various countries, Speaker Gafarova toured the Memorial Center and viewed the exhibition titled “Footsteps of Those Who Did Not Cross”, which highlights the human tragedy and lasting impact of the atrocity.
She also signed the book of condolences, expressing deep sorrow and solidarity with the families of the victims.
During the official commemoration ceremony, delegation leaders honored the memory of those who lost their lives by laying flowers at the memorial site.
On the sidelines of the event, Speaker Gafarova held bilateral discussions with parliamentary leaders from several countries, reflecting Azerbaijan’s commitment to inter-parliamentary dialogue and international cooperation.
The visit underscored Azerbaijan’s respect for historical memory, commitment to justice, and solidarity with nations commemorating past tragedies.
