Terengganu Becomes First State to Launch Madani Tuition Programme with RM5.27 Million Allocation

Kuala Terengganu, July 12, 2025 – The Europe Today: Terengganu has been officially selected as the first state to implement the Madani Tuition programme, an educational initiative introduced with a total allocation of RM5.27 million aimed at supporting 9,408 students across the state. The programme will be facilitated through the involvement of 614 school teachers.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made the announcement while officiating the Closing Ceremony of the Terengganu People’s Madani (PMR) Programme 2025 at Pasar Kedai Payang. He said Terengganu was chosen in recognition of its outstanding academic achievements in national public examinations.

“I appreciate and acknowledge Terengganu’s excellent performance. I am proud, both as a father and grandfather, to witness such academic dedication. Therefore, I am pleased to announce that Terengganu will be the first to receive this educational support under the Madani Tuition initiative,” the Prime Minister stated.

He emphasized that the programme, carried out in collaboration with school teachers, is the first of its kind in Malaysia, aimed at enhancing academic performance among students in need of support.

The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

The Madani Tuition programme represents a key component of the federal government’s commitment to equitable and quality education, under the broader Madani framework promoting inclusivity and empowerment.
