Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov Highlights Strategic Connectivity at Dubrovnik Forum

Baku, July 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov participated in the prestigious “Dubrovnik Forum” held on July 11–12 in Dubrovnik, Croatia, under the theme “Channelling the Change.” The international gathering brought together senior officials, diplomats, and experts to discuss pressing global challenges and opportunities for cooperation.

Deputy Minister Mammadov contributed to a high-level panel discussion titled “Connecting Europe and Asia: Pathways to Partnership and Prosperity.” In his remarks, he underscored the strategic significance of strengthening political and economic cooperation between Europe and Asia to foster international stability and sustainable development.

He highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing prominence as a dependable partner and a key transport and logistics hub connecting the two continents. Mammadov noted that through its leadership in multilateral infrastructure initiatives across transport, energy, and communications sectors, Azerbaijan plays a vital coordinating role in advancing regional integration and promoting connectivity across Eurasia.

On the sidelines of the forum, Deputy Minister Mammadov held bilateral meetings with several key figures. He met with Lu Shaye, the head of the delegation of the People’s Republic of China and Special Representative for European Affairs. The two discussed the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, reviewing recent high-level exchanges and cooperation agreements that have further solidified bilateral ties.

In a separate meeting with Thailand’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Russ Jalichandra, Mammadov reviewed the current status and future potential of Azerbaijan–Thailand relations. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in economic, cultural, and humanitarian sectors, as well as enhancing collaboration within international and multilateral platforms.

Azerbaijan’s active participation at the Dubrovnik Forum reflects its commitment to fostering global dialogue, regional cooperation, and multilateral engagement across continents.
