The signing took place on Friday during an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The initiative reflects Turkmenistan’s commitment to honoring the historic milestone of its permanent neutrality, which has been a cornerstone of its foreign policy and international standing since its adoption.
During the meeting, Chairwoman of the Mejlis, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, presented a detailed report on the efforts carried out under the guidance of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The newly signed law stipulates that the medal will be awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to strengthening Turkmenistan’s independence, permanent neutrality, and its role in fostering international peace, trust, and stability. It also recognizes notable achievements in the country’s political, economic, social, and cultural development.
As part of the commemorative events, an International Forum for Peace is scheduled to be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025, coinciding with the official Neutrality Day celebrations.
