Baku, July 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: In accordance with the directives of President Ilham Aliyev, the Republic of Azerbaijan has officially launched the first phase of the relocation process to the villages of Khanyurdu and Tazabina in the Khojaly district, marking a significant milestone in the country’s reconstruction and repopulation efforts in the liberated territories.
As part of this initial phase, 33 families comprising 122 individuals have been resettled in Khanyurdu village, while 28 families totaling 125 people have been relocated to Tazabina village.
The relocation process is being carried out as part of the government’s broader strategy to ensure safe, dignified, and voluntary return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their native lands. The initiative reflects the state’s continued commitment to restoring normal life and infrastructure in the region, following years of occupation.
The newly resettled families will benefit from modern housing, essential public services, and improved living conditions, ensuring a stable and secure environment as part of Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the Khojaly district.
Authorities have reaffirmed that further phases of resettlement will continue in accordance with the national plan to support the sustainable return of displaced citizens and the full restoration of socio-economic life in the liberated areas.
