Baku, July 15, 2025 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan produced 25.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas during the period of January to June 2025, reflecting a 0.4% increase compared to the same period last year, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Energy.
The Ministry reported that 6.6 bcm of gas was extracted from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block, while the Shah Deniz field contributed 13.8 bcm. Additionally, production from the Absheron field totaled 0.8 bcm, and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) accounted for 4 bcm.
Total gas sales during the reporting period reached 12.1 bcm. Of this volume, 6.1 bcm was exported to European countries, 4.9 bcm to Türkiye (including 2.9 bcm through the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline, TANAP), and 1.1 bcm to Georgia.
Cumulative production from the start of development until July 1, 2025, reached 660.1 million tons of oil (including condensate) and 487.1 bcm of gas from the ACG and Shah Deniz fields. Of these totals, the ACG block yielded 609.5 million tons of oil and 236.5 bcm of gas, while Shah Deniz contributed approximately 50.6 million tons of condensate and 250.6 bcm of gas.
As of June 1, 2025, Azerbaijan had exported around 658.1 million tons of oil and 180.2 bcm of natural gas, underscoring the country’s continued role as a reliable energy supplier in the region and beyond.
