Baku, July 15, 2025 – The Europe Today: Baku has secured the 117th position in the prestigious QS Best Student Cities Ranking 2026, released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, one of the world’s leading higher education analytics and rating agencies.
The ranking evaluates 150 cities across 58 countries and territories, recognizing Baku as a rising destination for international students. Notably, Azerbaijan is the only country from the South Caucasus region represented in this global ranking, marking a significant milestone for its growing higher education and academic environment.
The QS Best Student Cities Ranking assesses cities based on multiple indicators, including attractiveness (covering aspects such as environment and public safety), affordability (including tuition fees and living expenses), student mix, employment prospects, the reputation for tolerance and inclusiveness, as well as the number of universities featured in the QS World University Rankings.
Additionally, the ranking incorporates feedback from students currently living and studying in these cities, offering insights into the overall student experience.
Baku’s inclusion in the 2026 list reflects its rising profile as a welcoming, safe, and affordable academic hub with promising opportunities for both local and international students.
