Baku, July 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on Wednesday for an official visit.
According to APA news agency, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was accorded a formal welcome ceremony upon his arrival at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. An honor guard was lined up at the foot of the aircraft, while the national flags of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan were prominently displayed over the airport terminal, symbolizing the close ties between the two nations.
The distinguished Turkmen leader was received by First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yaqub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov, and other senior government officials.
The visit underscores the longstanding and friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were formally established on February 27, 1992, and have since been marked by mutual respect, regional cooperation, and shared strategic interests.
