Jiujiang, July 19, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of the 2025 Belt and Road Journalists Forum, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, a renowned Pakistani philanthropist and award-winning author, embarked on an enriching journey to explore Mount Lu, also known as Lushan, one of China’s most celebrated mountains, located in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province.
Historically known as Kuanglu, Mount Lushan is a treasured landmark within the Lushan National Park. The mountain stretches approximately 25 kilometers in length and 10 kilometers in width, with its highest point, Dahanyang Peak, rising to 1,474 meters above sea level.
Located in Lushan City, with areas extending into Lianxi District, Mount Lu offers majestic views that span the Yangtze River to the north, Nanchang to the south, and Poyang Lake to the east. Known for its cooler summer climate, it serves as a serene refuge for nature lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike.
Beyond its striking landscapes, Mount Lushan is revered as a spiritual center, housing ancient Buddhist and Daoist temples, as well as Confucian monuments, that continue to attract pilgrims, scholars, and travelers from around the world.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram’s visit is part of a broader cultural and media engagement under the Belt and Road Initiative, which brings together leading intellectuals, journalists, and cultural figures to foster deeper understanding of China’s heritage and its evolving role in global cooperation.
