Islamabad, July 20, 2025 – The Europe Today: In a significant step toward energy sustainability and agricultural modernization, the U.S.-based Phoebus Fund, LLC has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan’s One Name Consultants (ONC) to deploy a groundbreaking 4,000-megawatt Solargation™ project across Pakistan.
The Solargation™ system—patented under U.S. Patent No. 11,991,961—integrates high-efficiency solar generation with advanced irrigation technology, allowing farmland to remain over 95% agriculturally productive while generating over 60% more energy per acre than conventional solar farms.
“This project represents a major leap forward in global climate resilience, food security, and energy affordability,” stated Andrew Kennedy, Managing Partner of the Phoebus Fund. “By combining clean energy with next-generation irrigation, we are delivering a transformative solution for farmers and energy providers alike.”
Under the agreement, ONC will play a leading role in land acquisition, farmer lease facilitation, and coordination with national and regional utility companies to establish long-term Power Purchase and Interconnection Agreements (PPAs). The collaboration is expected to unlock substantial benefits for rural communities, including regular lease income for farmers and improved access to modern irrigation systems.
Key highlights of the Solargation™ program include:
- Deployment of 4,000 MW of solar capacity throughout Pakistan.
- Integration of clean energy with water-efficient agricultural systems.
- Long-term PPA agreements to ensure affordable and stable electricity supply.
- New income streams for farmers via structured lease arrangements.
An ONC representative remarked, “Solargation™ offers a rare convergence of sustainability, food production, and energy security. Pakistan’s farmers will benefit from cutting-edge irrigation while the nation secures much-needed low-cost clean energy.”
The initiative positions Pakistan at the forefront of the global agrivoltaics movement, offering a replicable model for countries seeking to balance agricultural productivity with renewable energy deployment.
