Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency Warns Against Fabricated Statement Circulating on Social Media

Baku, July 21, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a statement condemning the circulation of a fabricated and misleading message concerning Azerbaijan-Russia relations, allegedly attributed to Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan.

According to the Agency, the false statement has been widely disseminated across multiple social media platforms and is designed to imitate the official website of the President of Azerbaijan. The content, which contains baseless allegations, constitutes a deliberate act of disinformation aimed at manipulating public perception.

“This fabricated message, which imitates the official website of the President of Azerbaijan and contains baseless claims, exemplifies a clear attempt at information manipulation designed to mislead public opinion,” the statement reads.

The Media Development Agency strongly urged the public to rely exclusively on official sources for accurate information and emphasized that the government’s official position can be verified through reputable channels, including national news agencies and professional media outlets.

In conclusion, the Agency called on Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to remain vigilant and united against the growing threat of fake news and disinformation campaigns, reaffirming the importance of responsible media consumption in today’s digital environment.
