President Tokayev Signs Law Ratifying Treaty on Strengthening Allied Relations with Kyrgyzstan

Astana, July 21, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed into law the Treaty on Deepening and Expanding Allied Relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, according to official media reports.

The Treaty, originally signed in Astana on April 19, 2024, aims to elevate the Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan partnership to a new level through the enhancement of comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation across a wide range of sectors.

According to the statement, the text of the law will be officially published in the national press.

The Treaty outlines expanded collaboration in key areas including political dialogue, military and security cooperation, trade and economic relations, investment, agriculture, transit and transport connectivity, water and energy resource management, education, science and technology, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The legal ratification of the agreement reaffirms the commitment of both nations to further deepen their strategic partnership, promote regional stability, and strengthen integration within Central Asia.
