Baku, July 25, 2025 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met on Friday with Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and enhance multilateral engagement.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Asadov reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to expanding its relations with African nations, particularly Somalia. He emphasized the importance Baku attaches to building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships across the African continent.
Both sides commended the growing mutual support between Azerbaijan and Somalia within various international platforms, including the United Nations (UN), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). They affirmed their continued collaboration on issues of shared concern at these multilateral forums.
The discussions also explored a wide range of potential areas for cooperation, particularly in the fields of investment, agriculture, public service delivery, green energy, and humanitarian initiatives. Both sides expressed a strong interest in identifying concrete projects and joint efforts to foster economic development and sustainable growth.
The meeting underscored the shared desire of Azerbaijan and Somalia to elevate their bilateral relations and expand cooperation across various sectors.
