Tehran, July 26, 2025 – The Europe Today: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has expressed confidence that Iran’s scientific and military advancement will continue to accelerate, despite the recent martyrdom of several high-ranking military commanders and scientists in Israeli attacks.
In a message issued on Friday, marking the 40th day since the martyrdom of key Iranian figures, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “The future will prove that by the grace of God, both the scientific and military progress of Iran will accelerate further.”
The Leader’s message came in remembrance of prominent figures, including Lieutenant General Mohammad Baqeri, Lieutenant General Hossein Salami, and Major General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, whose absence he described as a “heavy blow to any nation.” However, he emphasized that the “short-sighted and foolish enemy did not reach its goal.”
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the Israeli regime as a “wicked Zionist regime and sworn enemy of the Iranian nation,” stating that its recent aggression had inflicted sorrow but failed to achieve its strategic intent.
While acknowledging the pain of loss, especially for the families of the martyrs, he stated that the men had “chosen a path where attaining martyrdom was not unlikely, and eventually, they reached what they longed for.”
Highlighting resilience in the face of adversity, Ayatollah Khamenei outlined three key sources of strength visible in the aftermath of the attacks:
- The remarkable endurance and spirit of the survivors,
- The unbroken resolve and continuity of institutions led by the martyrs, and
- The unity and spiritual strength demonstrated by the Iranian nation.
“This incident once again revealed the solid foundation of Islamic Iran,” he said, asserting that “the enemies of Iran are merely beating the air.”
He emphasized that the Iranian nation would continue to grow stronger each day, provided that certain national duties are upheld. These include:
- Preserving national unity as a collective responsibility;
- Accelerating scientific and technological advancement across all sectors, a duty for the elite;
- Safeguarding national dignity and honor, particularly by public figures and media;
- Enhancing defense capabilities, led by military commanders;
- Pursuing efficiency and results in all national executive matters;
- Providing spiritual guidance and resilience, the role of religious leaders;
- And maintaining revolutionary enthusiasm and awareness, especially among the youth.
Ayatollah Khamenei concluded his message with a hopeful vision, stating that “God willing, Iran will grow stronger each day,” affirming national perseverance in the face of external threats.
