Islamabad, August 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: His Excellency Dan Stoenescu, Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, held a significant meeting with Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Commerce of Pakistan, to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. With bilateral trade surpassing $200 million, both sides acknowledged the immense potential for further expansion.
The discussions focused on diversifying exports, including Romanian machinery, pharmaceuticals, and IT services, as well as Pakistani textiles, rice, and surgical instruments. Both sides also addressed key challenges such as banking systems and customs procedures that can hinder trade.
In addition to trade, they explored prospects for joint ventures in renewable energy, agriculture, and the digital economy. Opportunities within Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs) were highlighted, alongside cooperation in halal food trade, infrastructure, and technological innovation.
Ambassador Stoenescu reaffirmed Romania’s commitment to fostering a dynamic, forward-looking partnership with Pakistan, rooted in shared economic goals and long-term collaboration.
