Brussels, August 12, 2025 – The Europe Today: Belgian citizens wishing to travel to Vietnam for stays of up to 45 days will no longer require a visa, Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot (Les Engagés) announced on Monday.
The visa exemption scheme will come into effect on 15 August 2025, as part of Vietnam’s ongoing tourism promotion and development program.
Minister Prévot noted on social media that this milestone was among the key requests made by the King and himself during their state visit to Vietnam in April. He credited the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s commitment and the proactive efforts of the Belgian embassy for the achievement.
The visa exemption applies not only to Belgium but also extends to residents of 10 other European countries, including Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
